What Do Christians Believe?

Bible

Believe in the Old and New Testaments of scripture, verbally inspired by God through people and without error. The Bible is the supreme authority on faith and life.
(1 Corinthians 2:13, 10:11, 2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21)

God

Believe in one God Who is creator of heaven and earth. He is a spirit, He is love, truth;

He is infallible, unchangeable, and He exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1, Matthew 28:19,20, Mark 12:29, John 1:1, 14, Acts 5:3,

2 Corinthians 13:14)

Jesus

Believe in Jesus Christ, the begotten son of God, the eternal Word manifest in flesh. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and He is true God and true man. He died a sacrificial death as a substitutional sacrifice for our sins and all who believe in Him are justified by His shed blood. (Isaiah 7:14, 9:6, John 1:1, 14, 3:16, Luke 1:30-35, Philippians 2:5-8, John 1:29, Romans 3:25, 2 Corinthians 5:14, 1 Peter 2:24, 3:18,

1 John 1:7)

Man

Believe that man was created in the image of God. Man fell through sin, lost his spiritual life and is now dead in his sin and has become the subject of the devil. This has been transferred to the entire human race and all man is corrupt in body, mind, and soul.
(Genesis 1:26, 2:17, 6:5, Psalm 14:1-3, 51:5, Jeremiah 17:9, John 3:6, 5:40, 6:53, Romans 3:10-19, 8:6, Ephesians 2:1-3, 1 Timothy 5:6, 1 John 3:8)

Ordinances

Believe that Christ instituted the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord's Supper (Communion) to be observed until He returns. (Matthew 28;19, 20, Acts 10:47, 19:5,

Luke 22:19, 20, 1 Corinthians 11: 23-26)

Salvation
Believe that all who receive, by faith, Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, who confess Him as such in front of their fellow man, are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become the children of God. (John 1:2, 13, 3:3-8, 16, 5:24, Romans 10:9, 10, 8:16,

Acts 16:31)

Holy Spirit

Believe the Holy Spirit convicts man of sin, regenerates, baptizes, seals, and sets believers apart for a holy life. He keeps and empowers believers day by day. Believe He is the teacher of the word of God and He leads us in our daily life. (John 16:7-11, 3:6, 14:17, 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19, 12:13, Ephesians 1:13, 4:30, 1 John 2:20-27, 1 Peter 1:1,

Romans 8:2,4,9,12,14)

Church

Believe that the Church of Jesus Christ is made up of those who have put their faith in Jesus Christ. We are saved to worship and serve and to seek to win others to Christ with the help of the Holy Spirit. We are to seek to live a Holy life, to separate ourselves from

all that might dishonor God or weaken our testimony. (Acts 2:42-47, Hebrews 10:25, Colossians 3:16, Mark 16:16-18, Rev.1:5, Titus 3:5, Ephesians 1:13,14, Titus 3:7,14

Luke 24:47, Titus 3:12)

Heaven

Believe in the eternal security and the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the eternal conscious punishment of the lost. (John 5:24, 10:28, 29, 13:1, 17:11, 14:16,

Romans 8:28-39, Hebrews 7:25, 1 Peter 1:5, Jude 24, Matthews 25:41, Revelation 20:11-15)

Satan

Believe there is a personal devil, a being of great power and cunning, who is "the prince of the power of the air," "the prince of this world" and "the god of this age." Believe that he can exert vast power, but only as far as God allows him. He will ultimately be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone and shall be tormented day and night forever. (Job 1:6-7, Ezekiel 28:11-19, Isaiah 14:12-17, Matthews 4:1-11, Ephesians 2:2, John 12:31,

2 Corinthians 4:4, Revelation 20:10)

Jesus said, " I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me." John14:6
